Get rid of that idiot McClaren
So... hmmm... what did I say nearly two years ago, eh? McClaren - shite. This is typical of England, we had a chance of getting one of the world's best managers (Scolari) and the stupid idiotic press shoot him down because he ain't "English". Yeah, of course he ain't English, cos the other English managers are utterly crap. We then go for someone who is completely unproven (and is STILL unproven) and he cocks it up for England in the same sort of style not seen since Graham Taylor. First he drops Beckham... great... then he wavers like the lillylivered weak twat he is and brings him back! You couldn't make this up.
So... Beckham, the player who goes off to a shit US club in America and expects to come back to the England team and do the job, despite the fact that he hasn't done the job since the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifiers (yes he was shit in the actual tournament, not to mention crap in the 2004 European Championship and the 2006 FIFA World Cup and no one free kick in so many games doesn't make him amazing). Smart choice McClaren. Beckham ain't a great. Maradona is a great. Pele is a great. Cruyff is a great. Linekar is a great. Barnes is a great(ish... but he did score that goal against Brazil in 1984!). Hoddle is a great. Gascoigne is a great. Beckham is nowhere near the levels of these players and will never be.
Some footballing "experts" have been saying that all of this failure to qualify is down to foreigners flooding the Premiership and not giving the English players a chance. Yeah right. Nothing to do with the fact that the English players are simply shit. O wait...
The English need to wake up and realise that we aren't anywhere near as good as we were and instead of coming out with the old "lets pick an English manager" bollocks and pick the same shitty players based on how many shirts they can sell, we should be going after the best manager and making sure we play proper football, not long ball rubbishness, but football that ManUre, Chelski and (I loathe to say but lets be honest) Arse-enal play. A substantial part of the English squad comes from these clubs so why not simply play like them?
So goodbye McClaren. You won't be missed.
Tosser.
